Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

How do I get a copy of the marriage license from Jamaica?

I was married in Jamaica while living in GA and can't find any record of it existing. Until recently I thought that meant I didn't need a divorce. Now I am getting remarried and don't knwo how to go about making sure that I am single.

I would suggest you contact the Consul Office in NY for assistance in retrieving the information you need.

As to getting divorced, you and your spouse (assumes you are married) in order to file for divoice in MA, you both need to have lived in MA during the message.

Otherwise you will need to file in GA or Jamaica
