Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

crazy girlfriend

Tonight my ex's girlfriend was saying horrid things to my son about me. He came home from visitations crying and upset. Several people have came to me telling me about the awful things she is saying around about me. She has even threaten me bodily harm in front of a crowd of people. Is there something I can do to stop this? There is no problem between the father and I we get along fine. But I am at the point I think she is seriously going to hurt me.

Re: crazy girlfriend

There are three separate routes you should take. The first is simple: file a police report about the threats.

File a modification case to ask that the ex's girlfriend not be present on visitation. No matter how well you get along fine with the ex, he needs to be aware that this is not optional.

You also should file a direct equity case to order the girlfriend to stay away from you and your son. THis can be filed in either Superior Court or the Probate and Family Court. There will be a cost for this.

You would do well to get an attorney's assistance with all of this.
