Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Criminal restrainin gorder

there was a criminal restraining order that was ordered. it was for 10 days and was not renewed. there were court fines attached which half were paid not knowing about other half but had a year to pay back. because we did not know there were addtional monies owed there was a warrant issued for violation of restrainig order. The monies were paid to satisfy but the arrant was not lifted and we were told because he violated the restraining order? Why does the warrant remain active if the monies were settled?

Re: Criminal restrainin gorder

There is a warrant outstanding because you violated the court's orders in what appears to be a criminal prosecution for violating a restraining order, if I correctly "read between the lines." Paying fines you owed may entitle you to a lifting of the warrant, but if and only if you and your probation officer agree. You should get a lawyer, inquire, and do what you must to square the matter up.

There is not enough information here to answer the question. There are no fees involved in a Restraining Order. Check with teh court to find out how to remove the warrant.
