Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
can a custodial parent be forced to pay education
My daughter is 20 years old and in college our support I am the custodial parent. I never received child support. Our divorce settlement says both parties will pay what they can reasonable afford. I have paid approximately 20.000 and my ex has paid nothing. 3 months ago my daughter moved with her mother because she did not like my rules. I can no longer afford to pay for college. I also have a 1 year old child. She is in the Air National Guards also. They are going to take me to court for child support their lawyer says they can get 32% of my income. Can they do this

Re: can a custodial parent be forced to pay education
Did an order awarding you child support ever issue?
If so, then by not paying it, your spouse would be in contempt.
If your daughter is not totally relying on your
spouse for support, the spouse would not be
entitled to receive child support from you.
Is your daughter in college full time?
How much does she receive from the National Guard?
