Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

custody ruling

My ex has custody of son, took off with him to Kansas 12 months ago.I went to court,he was ordered to return with my son(of course he didn't).The judge gave him 4 chance to show up in court and I am still waiting for ruling(7 months now). The judge said,he needed to go through whole file with advisor ,before he would make a decision.I haven't seen or heard from my son(he is 12 now)in a year,I am devestated.I call or go to courthouse every few weeks, but all I get for info is,its not done yet.How long can this take?????????????????

: custody ruling

You can have your attorney contact the judge's clerk. You can also take the drastic step of contacting the First Justice of the court, or the judge in charge of the probate court.

You cal always schedule another motion so that you can get in front of the judge and seek to know what is going on?

If you need help contact me.

You should contact the office of the Chief Administrative Justice (Hon. Paula Carey) for the Probate Court at Two Center Plaza, Boston, Massachusetts, and advise thee personnel of the situation. You can find contact information by typing in "Massachusetts Probate Court" into a search engine; that should pull up the main page as one of the top selections.
