Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

My daughter recently informed me that her father made her sleep in his bed at least twice in middle school, and forced her to sit on his lap at his computer desk. She has symptoms of sexual abuse and emotional and possible physical abuse as well. There is no further information available at this time. Can anyone tell me what this means leagally. I am also in the middle of an ongoing custody case which I have temporary custody at this time.

That standing alone does not sound like abuse.

More than that is needed to support such an inference.

I'm a little dubious that this is coming up in the context of a custody dispute - and I won't be the last person to question your motives.

However, I respectfully disagree with attorney Lebensbaum. While there may be perfectly reasonable and inocuous explanations for the conduct that you describe, if the daughter has expressed discomfort or concern - then you must take it seriously. If your daughter intimates that she has been or is being sexually abused by her father, you need to have a discussion with her immediately!
