my daughters son is 17years old and just starting college. does her ex husband still have to pay for half of his medical bills?

It should be clear in the separation agreement, but yes unless the separation agreement provided otherwise. moreover, the ex should be responsible for a portion of the cost of college if the son is a full-time college student.

If the current court order/judgment addressing child support etc, is silent on the issue of uninsured medical and dental expenses and co-pays, than your daughter can modify the order/judgment to address the payment of uninsured medicals and dentals etc. With the exception of extraordinary circumstances the father should be paying a portion of uninsured medicals etc. With the modificatiton, if college tuition/expenses has also not been addressed in a court order/judgment that should also be included in the Complaint.
