Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

divorce decree

my spouse and I have completed ''pre-trial'', we can not claim no fault divorce.and i was informed that to end this i will have to hire another attorney, paying a sizable retainer. I want to end the divorce. just sign the paper in the judge's court. i waive legal councel. i want nothing from this divorce - no alimony, no health care, no 50/50, no anything. just divorce period. how can i make this happen. my divorce started dec2005 and we've gotten no where, except out $1,000's. It's killing me. please, please tell me how to stop. we will be divorced that's it. nothing is being asked for.

i gave the marriage 30 yrs, wasn't going to work.

Re: divorce decree

If your spouse has an attorney then ask the attorney to draft a separation agreement. Review the agreement and it if is to your satisfaction then you will need to sign it in front of a notary. Once you sign it your spouse will need to sign it. You can then walk it to the court at an agreed upon date and present it to the judge. It makes no sense to me that you "cannot claim a no fault" divorce. You do not need to have a reason. That is the entire reason for the "no fault" divorce. The only reason would be viable is that your spouse is adamant about the fault grounds for divorce.
