Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Divorce and inheritance

Hi,

My wife and I are seeking a divorce after 13 years.

We have 3 children and very few assets.

However I am due a large inheritance (years away)

My plan is to set up trusts for the kids however do I need to split the future inheritance with my divorced wife?

Thanks

Re: Divorce and inheritance

It must be disclosed and may be considered divisible marital property unless she agrees to some of it being put in trust for the children. Contact me if you have further questions.

Re: Divorce and inheritance

Be careful!!!!!!

You do not know whether whomever you are to

inherit from will still leave it to you should

they think that your wife will get it.

You do NOT want to disclose a damn thing.

Sorry Atty JM.

The inheritance is NOT NOT NOT yours yet.

It is NOT NOT NOT a marital asset yet.

Do NOT NOT NOT be tricked.

Keep your wits about you.

There are tons of questions to be asked of you and answered.

The Net is not the place to do it.
