i have been married for over 16 years and we have two children 16 & 18, wanted to know if there was a way my husband can somehow kick me out of the house (both names on house) if he filed for divorce 1st?

The short answer is no.

Unless he get a court order, you and he share the same rights to the home. No one has a superior right, regardless of who files for a divorce first.
