divorce

i've been married for 23 years , 2 kids, a 19 and 3 year old, own a home, do i need an attorney, to get my 50% of everything and shared custody

I would suggesst that you at least consult with an attorney. It is unclear whether both you and your spouse both work; if your 19 yr old is in or planning to attend college; who is to have physical custody; et cetera.

Even if you assume that this is to be an amicable divorce, you are best off with an attorney to make sure your interests are protected.

There are a lot of factors and decisions that go into a divorce. If it were as simple as everyone getting 1/2, then there wouldn't be a need for divorce attorneys and judges.

You should definitely obtain an attorney's assistance to make sure that the divorce is reasonable under all of the circumstances. this does not necessarily mean a protracted fight.
