In Massachusetts, even if a Joint Petiton is drafted and signed or a separation agreement is drafted and signed, without a hearing on the matter followed by a judgment, a divorce is not valid.

Your question is not clear. If you signed a separation agreement, the agreement has to be submitted to the court and approved. A signed separation agreement can be used to justify a divorce award or can be used to try and enforce a settlement, but it is not enforceable until approved by the court.

If you filed for divorce and the case is not processed to completion, the case will be dismissed.

Divorce agreements that become a court order stand for ever, unless modified by the Court.
