Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Divorce Payments

What are the laws in Massachusetts regarding payment of divorce on both parties involved? I have been a homemaker for 27 years with no income and my spouse makes approx $250/yr. Am I responsible for all of the divorce costs?

Re: Divorce Payments

Your attorney can arrrange for your husband to pay the bill assuming you do not have any funds of your own. Nevertheless, your attorney will in essence factor your legal fees into his settlement negotiations with your husband and his attorney or his requests if it goes to trial.

You should contact a divorce attorney immediately if you are thinking of getting a divorce or your husband has told you he wants a divorce.

These things can be done in two ways, as a more or less cooperative manner or as a real fight.
