Divorce settlement

We divorced in 2005 after being married over 10 years and I am sole caregiver for our 14 year old disabled Autistic daughter. Part of the divorce settlement was to collect a portion of his social security benefits. Social security contacted me for a repayment. Can you direct me to some answers or a place I can data mine?

If you were in some way overpaid, your repayment is due pursuant to Social Security Law. Any rights you may have are found under the regulations and statutes.
