Divorce

Cannot show for deposition for my divorce. Divorce in Massachusetts and I live in Texas. Cannot afford the travel and time off since i make a meager paycheck. How can i go if i cant afford it?

I have been homeless for over a year. Now there are charging a 100 dollars a day for not showing up.

You must get in touch with your wife's lawyer and explain the situation to them. Not showing up without notice and an excuse that needs to be put in writing is a big problem for you.

If you're homeless, why are they trying to get $100/day from you. Do they think you have some hidden assets? Why don't you just sign the divorce papers?

You should contact your wife's attorney and explain you can't appear and why. You should also indicate to the attorney and the court while you are unable to attend a deposition in MA you will make yourself available in Texas. There is a provision which will allow a deposition to be taken out of state in this manner.
