Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Divorce and taxes

Certainly I know that child support is not taxable to the recipient, but alimony is counted as income so is taxed.

On top of child support and alimony I pay my ex-wife a lot of money in to cover medical expenses and religious school. Does this money count as income for my ex?

It is not income, but it can be deducted on your tax return.

To the extent you are reimbursing medical expenses, I believe it goes to your medical expense deduction. The school payment would be part of your child support.
