can a divorce go through even if the wife won't take the divorce classes in Massachussetts

Hello,

If you have children of the marriage under the age of 18, a Judge may not grant a final divorce up until both the Parties' have taken the education course and filed their original certificate of completion with the court.

I agree with the previous attorney, a court will likely not grant a final divorce until the parenting education program requirement has been fulfilled. In fact, in Suffolk County, they will not even schedule your final hearing. For a list of approved vendors, and for information on waiving the fee, please feel free to contact my office.

I agree with the previous answers, but since you used the word "won't" with regard to taking the divorce classes, I am wondering if you are actually asking if the wife can stop the divorce from going through by refusing to take the course. If that's your question, then the answer is no. If the wife refuses to take the course, the other party or the judge can order the wife to take the course, and then if she won't take the course, she is in contempt of a court order.
