Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
I got divorced in 2012 and have been in and out of court for the last two years trying to get back custody of my 14 year old daughter. On 2/24/14 I had a trial date set for custody. I did not have an attorney to reprecent me and my ex husband did so I was scared to go through with the trial. When I got to court on the 24th my ex and his attorney offered me $3000 for firstand last for an apartment to move back to Ma. I am in RI at the time. And he was responsible for transportation of our daughter to and from my home until I moved back to Ma. I can not afford to move back to Ma at this time because the alimony he is giving which is $200 a week will end the first week of March 2015 and I will not be able to pay the rent in Ma. He is taking me back to court on 9/24 to suspend the transportation and asking for child support. He owes me $2000 in back alimony. I want to ask the court to order him to pay me the back alimony so I can get an attorney to help me at my pretrial on 9/24. What can I file with the court to ask for the money?

You file a complaint for contempt for non-payment of alimony.
