Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I am currently divorced and my ex-husband is requesting I get off his health insurance. At the time of divorce he agreed to have me stay on since he has to have a family plan for our daughter. Am I obligated by the law to get my own health insurance?

You and/or your attorney need to read the divorce/judgment/agreement to find the answer to your question. Good Luck!

As a general proposition, if your "agreement" with your former husband is spelled out in your Divorece Agreement, then he's obligated to maintain your insurance coverage. A specific answer to your question may very well turn the language in your Agreement. If there's nothing in your divorce agreement that obligates your former husband to provide you with insurance coverage you likely do not have an enforcible right.
