Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
I got divorced in Nevada in April 2008. Both my daughter nad I and me ex-husband live in Mass, My ex-husband is out of work a lot. He is working now but is getting layed off again within a month. The divorce decree states he ha to pay a minimum of $1000 child support per month plus a portion of my car payment $311.87.
What do I need to do to enforce this? Someone said I had to get divorce domesticated in MA as it happened in NV. How do I do this and how do I make sure I get payments on time and in full. He, when working makes about $150,000 per year but is talking about enlisting in the marine corp (he is 31) Also, there is a substantial amout of credit card debt in both our names which he has taken over as part of the divorce settlement. Is ther a way to remove my name from that debt? Most of it was accrewed while he was in grad school for living expenses. I spend a lot of time supporting him while he was getting his MBA from Stanford and now he can't get ( or dosen't want to ) work and use his education that cost sod early.

You need to get a certified copy of the divorce documents and order, and file these in Mass.
With this you can also file for contempt.
Your issues are complex, and require the assistance of a lawyer.
As Attorney Lebensbaum stated: Get a ceritified copy of the separation agreement and divorce decree. File them in the Probate Court in the County where you live with your child and file a Complaint for Contempt.
I suggest you contact an attorney for assistance.
