Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I was divorced in NH last year. I now live in MA. If my ex-wife tries to modify the decree, can I be summonsed across state lines?

The NH Court still has jurisdiction and therefore can render judgment on modification of the decree whether you are there or not.

If you do not appear, the likelihood is that the court will rule against you.

As long as NH has jurisdiction, your wife can continue to seek modifications there.

It is not where you live but which court has control over the case.

Yes, you can be summonsed and DO NOT IGNORE IT.

Are there kids?
