Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

DNA Testing Issue

My son took a court ordered DNA Test. Ten weeks and two telephone calls to the lab later, we received the result.

Under what circumstances would this be likely?

Re: DNA Testing Issue

The relatively few testing labs are swamped, and they have problems with reading results properly. 10 weeks is 8 weeks longer than it should be, and it should not have required telephone calls. I would be suspicious of the results ad ask for a retest, at no additional cost. If there was a problem with someone paying for it, then the scenario is more likely. If the mother and/or child delayed getting their swabs, that could also explain it.

You may have had the swabs taken by a local medical facility, but they rarely actually do the tests; they sent them out for processing.

Re: DNA Testing Issue

Are you asking is it normal to take this long? Yes! I am not sure this is exactly what your asking, because you are really not posing a question. Kindly be more specific of

your inquiry!

Feel free to email ([email protected]) me with a more specific question.

Sincerely, Maria Murber
