Does a doctor's letter stating mandatory bed rest, override a court order to come to court after defaulting the first time?

No it does not. You can send the letter to the court and ask that your court appearance be rescheduled. You can also hire an attorney to appear in court on your behalf.

No it does not. Call the clerk of the court and send a letter and/or fax explaining that your doctor has ordered bed rest and that you request another hearing date. You will need a note from your doctor.
