Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Domestic Relations Summons

I live in Mass and was served from my ex-husband with a Domestic Relations Summons. He wants to stop child support because our yougest son is 19 years old. Does the court have a form I must use to answer the summons?

Re: Domestic Relations Summons

You can check out the specific county's web page to determine what form to use. Some counties are very specific while others are not. If the web page isn't helpful sometimes a call to the clerk may be useful. Are you thinking about handling the matter on your own?

Re: Domestic Relations Summons

There is no form . An answer should be prepared and filed if you intend to refute the allegation in the Complaint for modification that should have been served with the summons. Unless you intend to represent yourself on this complaint you should retain an attorney.
