dss help needed
my friend is freaking out her son was in dss custody for almost 2 yrs she got her son back right after her and her man split she was going through emotional problems cause he left her for the roomate and then basically married the roomate,she tried to leave to start her life over with her son but was afraid dss would yank her son to do instability,well in aug her son set his room on fire dss yanked the boy and now they want to place the child for adoption,on top of that now have concerns of the child missing a few school appts and doc appts and house being cluttered the boy is a walking time bomb.. does this seem like its enough to keep the child from mom she doesnt want to lose her 8 yr old son and this is also the 2nd fire he was never educated when he was removed the first time,she loves her son and wants to help him. what can she do also her case is out of the lawrence court is there a lawyer that would help fight? does she stand a good case? her appointed lawyer doesnt call her or anything.in march it will be 3 yrs sicne the case opened.. please help my god son go home where he belongs

The best interest of the child is at stake here and from what you have told me, it sounds like he is placed second in his mother's life. For example, you mention the loss of some guy and instead of focusing on the most important thing in her life (her child)she comes apart and is incapable of tending to him.
Your friend should focus on taking care of stablizing her life and show dss that she is capable of raising her child. She may want to consider parenting classes and counseling to assist her. Good luck! Sincerely, Maria Murber

If you believe that your present court appointed attorney is not adequately representing you, then you can seek that the court assign another attorney.
