Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
False statements
My childrens father's girlfriend who is a police officer turned in a false report to department of social services abount 2 years ago (1 week before we went to court, i was seeking sole legal custody which i was awarded.) she made the report as a mandated reported. Dss found nothing to validate the complaint and the case was closed. What are my options against her. Making a report to her chief will fall on deaf ears. She constently tells tall tales to my ex re my current husband and myself re police business which is non exsistent which not sure how to prove things havent happened such as dui, speeding, domestic violence etc, i know all of her allegations are false but its mentally draining knowing that she can make false reports to people and an agencys without proof, just her say so. Please help ive got to stop this police misconduct.

Re: False statements
You can file suit against the City/Town that she works for and against her as well. I recommend you consult with an attorney.
Liability for False statements
You can put the police department on notice. You can contact the town administrator. You can file a criminal complaint in the district court.
You can also file a civil action seeking damages against her.
The steps are not mutually exclusive, and are somewhat complicated. These may require the assistance of an attorney.

Re: False statements
If she is abusing her authority as a police officer, you may have civil rights violations that you may bring against her and the police department.
