What are the laws about requesting attorney fees over a custody case?

The Court simply considers the financial ability of both parties in determining whether to grant an allowance for attorney's fees. Good Luck!

You can request it. But it doesn't mean you'll get it. Unless in cases where there is obvious bad faith in one of the parties or there is such a gap in the finances of the parties, the court is not going to allow attorneys fees.
