Re: Family
As a mediator and an attorney I meet with couples to help them come to an agreement. Once an agreement is made I put together the separation agreement and all court documents needed to file the divorce with the appropriate court. the couple takes the completed packet of documents to the court for the court's approval and judgment of divorce. Because I do not represent either party in the mediation process, I do recommend to couples that they have attorneys to look over the final agreement prior to submitting it to the court.

Mediators help couples get through the divorce process by providing guidance and offering solutions to impasses. They help draft the Separation Agreement but they don't represent either party in the divorce. They don't help you file or navigate the court system. For that, you need an attorney who represents you.
