Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
Fianlization of Divorce
My divorce was granted on Feb. 28, 2007 In Massachusetts and it was amended in March and then again in May. Both amendments were nunc pro tunc to the date of Feb. 28th. The papers state that the judgment will be absolute 90 days from entry of judgment. So, what date is my divorce final?

Re: Fianlization of Divorce
The Court will first grant what is called a "divorce nisi", which is a temporary decree. Ninety days after the granting of a divorce nisi, a final divorce judgment will be handed down by the Court. The date of this final divorce judgment is the day that your divorce actually became final.

If both amendments were "nunc pro tunc" as you say, your divorce is final 90 days from February 28.
