if i filed bankcrupcy while alimony and divorce are in process, will these affect my financial situation?

Is alimony a mandatory for older people who are divorcing though there are no young children involved?

Alimony and child support cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. The bankruptcy will impact your ability to pay alimony by reducing your debt and perhaps that of your spouse.

If your children are older than 23 years of age, then child support should not be an issue.

As to alimony, if there are no assets to divide such as a home, then alimony may be appropriate.
