Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I've filed the divorce with her MA address on the complaint form and R408. But she went to Brazil for an extended visit. Now I have the domestic relations summons for a contested divorce, to be served on her. She said she is not going to comeback soon but I have her address in Brazil . I'd like to serve her in Brazil by certified mail with return receipt in accordance with 4(e). My question is would serving her in Brazil be a problem as the divorce forms I've filed earlier when she is here says she resides in MA. What's the correct way to handle this? Do I need to file any motions with the court OR do I just submit a return receipt with her signature from Brazil?

You can probably just notify the court of her newly discovered address. You may have to ask the court for alternate forms of service. Our office has handled service by publication and other means in divorces where the other spouse cannot be located. Please feel free to give us a call if you would like representation in your divorce.
