Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I am filing a joint petition for an uncontested divorce in Middlesex County, MA. There are no minor children and we have worked out all the financial matters. Their is no alimony or spousal support on either side. In addition to filing the Divorce petition, joint affadavit with a certified copy of our marriage certificate is there anything else we need to file? Are we required to file financial statements if we have already worked everything out?

You are required to prepare and file financial statements in all cases, regardless of whether they are contested or uncontested. My advice would be to pay a lawyer to review the agreement and your division of assets. You will both have to live with the decisions you have made, and the language that you choose to use, for the rest of your lives, and it is a lot cheaper to 'get it right' the first time.

You are required to file financial statements. I would have an attorney review your separation agreement and division of assets to make sure you have not left anything out.
