how do i find out wether my mother's care, while in a nursing home, was paid by mediaid or medicare?

Checking with the Nursing home would be easiest. However, Medicare does not generally pay for nursing home care, that is paid for by Medicaid. Medicare will pay for rehab and specific treatments but general nursing home coverage is paid by Medicaid.

To get the information, your mother may have to sign a release so that the Nursing Home will be able to disclose the information.
