Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
frozen bank accounts
My husband has served me with divorce papers. We have numerous bank accounts, in which some are in my name only.
He has claimed to have been before a Judge and has managed to have all bank accounts frozen. My question would be, could this have happened without my being present for this hearing.

Re: frozen bank accounts
Have the papers with which you were served review by an attorney who will represent you in the divorce to see if they contain an ex parte motion to attach your bank accounts which must have been supported by an affidavit which you would have the right to rebut at a court hearing with 2 days notice to him, or whether his claim is based merely on the automatic Rule 411 Restraining order issued with the summons which defines what is and is not "frozen".
Re: frozen bank accounts
You husband may seek an ex parte attachment. You should have the papers reviewed by an attorney immediately.
