Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Me and my ex girlfriend got a dog, she paid for it but I paid for grooming and we split the vet bills. The dog lived with me for her whole life, but now that me and my girlfriend broke up we agreed to split custody. I'm afraid she is going to try and keep the dog, what are my options
