Re: Grandparent rights
Massachusetts allows grandparents of children whose parents are divorced to file a
complaint in probate court and have visitation rights established by the court.
Re: Grandparent rights
The Massachusetts legislature and the courts have been expanding the rights of relatives and those who have raised children, in recent years and months. The legislature passed a law that gives grandparents some rights relating to visitation with their grandchildren. These cases are tricky, since the courts will be looking to the "Best interest of the children", and what you want and what the courts will grant may not be the same.
You need an attorney to help represent your situation, and get you the right to see your grandchildren. If you are in Southeastern Mass, give me a call (508) 822-7777
