Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Grandparents rights

My ex boyfriend has told me his mother is suing me for grandparents rights. Is that possible for her to do? I haven't denied her visitation. She hasn't called to see my son. She has access to see him at my ex boyfriends house when I drop my son off to visit with him. Someone told me that she can't sue unless for example he was passed away or incapacitated. Also if she does sue because there was no reason for it can I counter sue for legal fees? I don't have the money to fight them in court. Also if my ex has two days with my son why does she need an extra day? She lives in the same building 5 doors down.

Grandparents rights

In Massachusetts there is a right for grandparent to file an action regarding visitation rights. While it is not often granted, it can be.

I am not sure if you can seek legal fees from the filing party. You can seek from your local law library information about what the grandparent would have to show, and how you can counter it.
