grandparents rights
in massachusettes if a child is in foster care does a grandmother have rights to take the full custody of the child?

It depends on the facts. I would certainly suggest you speak to the placement social worker.

a grandparent may seek custody of the child in Probate Court as opposed to having the child in foster care. However, the grandparent will need to demonstrate the ability to care for the child.
