Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

hey,am mother of two girls 6yrs and 2yrs.My ex keep on taking back to court with accusations and am tired,these have gone for almost 5yrs.He just quit his good paying job to low income job,i think he has 2 jobs or he gets overtime because the income he produced is little,he is also providing medical insurance for the kids,he also have visition rights on every other weeknds ,my question is,the child was reduced ,i want to requsted the jugde to increase extra days for him to helpout with the kids since the the chlid support has gone down ,is that possible or advisable ???

Hello,

I assume from your posting that you have physical custody of the children. A judge cannot make the non-custodial parent (the father of your children) spend additional time with the children. If the father wanted to increase parenting time where he was with the children half of the time, the judge would most likely either decrease the amount of child support he was to pay, or stop the child support altogether.

It sounds as though you did not have an attorney. I suggest you consult with an attorney prior to moving forward.
