Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

If my husband is an alcoholic and drinks while he is driving, is it normal for the courts to appoint supervised visits, so I can ensure that they won't be driving with him? He also doesn't pay any attention to the kids, and if he is babysitting, or they are left in his care, he goes in the garage and drinks, or takes off to go to the store and leaves them alone. He also gambles and has a bookie, and leaves in the middle of the night to go out drinking. What are the chances if we divorce that I can get full physical custody or supervised visits? I have no problem with him seeing the kids, I just don't want him driving anywhere with them. thank you

Your chances are good for getting a court to order supervised visitation under the circumstances you describe. It would become more certain if you were to retain an attorney who could appropriately draft it into a divorce agreement to be submitted for your husband's signature as part of an uncontested divorce. Good Luck!
