Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

My husband (we are just starting the divorce process) asked to be on my health insurance and I refused. He then retained a laywer and had his lawer send me a letter saying that if I don't add him by this Friday I will be held responsible for all of my husband's "accumulated uninsured medical charges" and "additional spousal support." I make very little money. He makes three times as much as I do, but the income is disability/Social Security. I can't afford a lawyer. What are my odds if I just let him take me to court and represent myself?

his lawyer is over reacting and over reaching, and what happened with insurance coverage before the filing for divorce. I believe you cannot afford not to have an attorney when you are being brutalized by your husband's lawyer. You really need to consult someone. If you covered him before, you should continue to cover him until the divorce is over. If he had the insurance, then he should continue to cover himself.
