Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
interference w/ a marriage
My husband of 20 yrs and I divorced very recently. I discovered his secretive affair w/ another woman a year ago. He has lived w/ this woman for the past year. This woman has just been granted a multi million dollar judgement for personal injury. She and my husband have been very open w/ their relationship from the very beginning. They are constantly trying to buy my husbands and I two teenage sons w/ materialistic items. She has caused my sons and I emotional distress (especially me) She has taunted me about him being her ''man'' and has left me hostile voice messages. Should I pursue a lawsuit against her for interfering w/ my marriage and causing my divorce as well as emotional distress

Re: interference w/ a marriage
The type of lawsuit you are referring to is called "alienation of affection". Unfortunately, that type of suit cannot be brought in Massachusetts.
If she is harassing you, you can get a restraining order against her. You can also go into court to ask for an increase in alimony and/or child support due to this windfall of money in your husband's new marriage.
