Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

joint custody

My teenage daughter wants to ''take a break'' and live with her father. For multiple reasons I want to insure a safety net for her to be able to return easily. Should I allow him temporary or joint physical custody? We now have joint legal custody with me having sole physical custody.

Re: joint custody

Children need BOTH parents.

Joint legal and physical custody is in the best interest of the children.

Your daughter is trying to tell you that.

And it seems she has done it in a very tactful way: "I need to take a break.".

You should be proud of her.

If you allow her to be with her dad,

he will allow her to be with you.

Being civilized and thoughtful of each other will go a LONG way toward gaining happiness for all of you!!!
