If you have joint legal custody but full physical custody do you need to inform the other parent when you are going on vacation out of state if it doesn't specify in the court order?

You can vacation on your time as you'd like, including out of state, as long as it doesn't impact the other parent's time with the child, so technically there's no obligation to provide notice. However, it reflects well on you if you do as it shows consideration.
