Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I want joint and shared custody of my 9 year old where he lives with me one week and one week with his mom keeping him in the same school as to not disrupt his normal activities. I currently have joint custody but he resides with his mom in MA.

There are two (2) different types of custody: legal custody and physical custody. You state that you currently have joint custody, but since your son resides with his mother, I am assuming that you already have joint legal custody and now would like to move forward and ask for joint physical custody?

There are many factors that are important when it comes to custody of children. I strongly recommend that you consult with an attorney about your case. It is a good goal, and you need to convince the court that both of you have a nearly equal access and responsibility to the child. Location of the parents is a problem from what yo describe.
