Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

can the judge make me go to MA for depo?

I am not a MA resident, my spouse is and she filed for divorce in MA. I have had to travel to MA 5 times thus far and am now being ordered to appear again for depos. I cannot afford this and they refused to allow my depo t be taken over the phone. (the judge agreed) & they filed motion to compel - can the judge make me go to MA for depo?

If you do not have an attorney, you should get one. There is a provision in the Discovery rules that allows a deposition to be taken over the telephone.

If you meet the requirements you may be able to have your deposition taken by telephone.
