Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

Legal Responsibility to 28 year old

I was recently contacted by a man claiming to be my son. He is 28 years old and is requesting a paternity test. What are my rights to deny and/or to past child support if he is my son?

You need to consult an attorney to speak about this. Do not speak to anyone else until this is done.

You have the right to refuse to submit to the paternity test forcing him to attempt to get a court to order it.

It is unlikely you could be held responsible for retroative child support. But, if proven to be your son, he would have a right to inherit from you, unless you acknowledge him in a will that disinherits him.
