A couple wishes to separate legally, but not proceed with the divorce until later. Can the separation agreement be contested even if the couple is not proceeding with the divorce?

Re: Legal Separation

There is no such thing as Legal Separation here in Massachusetts. If you wish to live apart from each other, you may do so but you will still be married and any and all financial and other responsibilities that go with marriage will still be present.

You can ask for Separate Support during the time that you are separated but there's no legal distinction between married and separated.
