Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts
are legal zoom power of attorney documents recognized in MA

There are many forms of Power of Attorney, from Durable Powers of Attorney(DPOA), a regular Power of Attorney, Limited Power of Attorney.
While Legalzoom can prepare a Power of Attorney (POA), they are a legal form completion company not practicing law. I have personally had to correct documents prepared by Legalzoom for people to get the solution they desired at least 5 times in the last six months.
I am not sure what you need the power of attorney to do for you, but if it relates to a domestic matter I strongly suggest you contact an attorney. Depending on the purpose of the POA I would suggest you spend a few dollars more and have an attorney prepare the document for you. POA or DPOA's depending on the purpose or use can cost from $100-$200 assuming they are not dealing with a complex matter.

I agree with attorney Roth.
Lawyers make much more money fixing the problems caused by a do-it-yourself estate plan, medicaid plan, financial or health care planning document than we do in preparing proper documents for our clients. Preparing a proper power of attorney may cost approximately one hour of attorney time, while conservatorship proceedings or an improper estate plan can cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.
If the power of attorney is legally sufficient and executed properly under Massachusetts law, then it will be recognized. If not, you will spend 1000x the cost of a legal zoom document to pay an actual attorney advocate to fix the problem. I have not run across a legal zoom document, but I would be happy to review it for you.
