You need to see an attorney regarding this. First, you have not mentioned whether there is a judgment of divorce or paternity. Second, the judgment may have something to say. If it dopes NOT, then the "statutory scheme" is the default, and the default was briefly mentioned in the previous answer -- support may continue. Support may continue to age 21, and beyond that to age 23 if the child is enrolled in an educational program (up to one bachelor's degree).

It is always best to get a judgment by agreement or by court order allowing you to stop support. It saves being brought in on a contempt citation.
